SCLC provides a broad range of investment consulting services to defined contribution plan sponsors, including:

• Comparing and selecting administrative service providers (such as recordkeepers and trustees) through our Provider Evaluation ® service;
• Determining what investment structure (e.g., menu of funds, lifestyle portfolios, individual brokerage accounts) is appropriate for a specific employee population;
• Evaluating investment options and managers offered by various plan service providers;
• Drafting Investment Policy Statements, including defining objective criteria for fund selection and retention;
• Selecting investment vehicles to offer through the plan;
• Monitoring and reporting on investment performance and conformity with IPS criteria; and
• Conducting employee communication and investment education programs (designed in accordance with the Department of Labor’s Interpretive Bulletin 96-1).

We also provide similar investment consulting services to defined benefit plan sponsors. We support both traditional defined benefit plans and cash balance plans.
