- Evaluating investment options and managers [5] offered by various plan service providers;
- Drafting Investment Policy Statements [6], including defining objective criteria for fund selection and retention;
- Selecting investment vehicles [7] to offer through the plan;
- Monitoring and reporting [8] on investment performance and conformity with IPS criteria; and
- Conducting employee communication and investment education programs [9] (designed in accordance with the Department of Labor [10]’s Interpretive Bulletin 96-1 [11]).
